Welcome to the Center Advancing Research and Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care (CARE-PC)

Message from the Director

Welcome to the Rutgers Center Advancing Research and Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care. Our goal is to unite those whose mission is to improve patient  outcomes and experiences, and to take root within the institutional structure as a means of continuous evaluation and learning within our health care organization. The center is under the leadership of Shawna Hudson, PhD, Professor and the Research Division Chief of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and co-chair of the RBHS emerging signature program in Community Health and Health Systems. Dr. Hudson’s international reputation for patient centered research examines long-term follow-up care for cancer survivors and their transitions from specialist to primary care. She is a medical sociologist and her research uses qualitative and quantitative research approaches to explore the intersections of community health, primary care, and oncology care.

Please visit our website to learn about how CARE-PC is designing, implementing, and evaluating new patient centered strategies to improve health.
