Nurses LEAD the Way

Nurses play a critical role in educating parents as they prepare to leave the hospital with their newborn. Working collaboratively with the Maternal and Child Health Consortia, we are providing regional as well as hospital-based education addressing the most recent evidence-based safe sleep guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the important role of nursing. The program recognizes that nurses LEARN about Safe Sleep, EDUCATE parents, AFFIRM that parents understand and feel comfortable with the information, and DOCUMENT that education has been provided. Policies and procedures as well as education skills and cultural competency are discussed. Risk Reduction Media & Materials for Hospital Tool Kit
